This is only the second story that I have read by Ben and I am now a huge fan! This title grabbed my attention from page one.Back With A Vengeance is the story of a man and his family, and the lengths that he will go to protect them. Ben, brings the old west to life not only with his descriptions, but with his dialogue, and characters. Like I said in a previous review, you care about the characters in his stories. They are people that most of us can identify with even today.
If you are a fan of tales from the old west and haven't read a Ben Bridges story, do yourself a favor and do so. I'm off to grab me some more of Ben's stuff!

Short but intriguing, it will keep you entertained until the end, as it introduces you to a man, a farmer who must transform himself into a fighter!
An average story that lacked any real hook to keep me reading. What should have been a few days read took me several weeks. I would not recommend it.
As usual, Ben Bridges has another winner.
Five really bad guys messing with a quiet farmers family and paying the ultimate price is a good "quick" summery of this story. But with everything else that's going on, the farmers very attractive mail order bride arrives in town at the same time as the bad guys.
This book is a very good read.
I read a lot of Ben Bridges westerns and this is the best so far. A farmer deals out revenge and justice to five bad men who have killed many of the towns citizens and have kidnaped his young adopted son. No super hero here, just a man doing what he's forced to, to protect his family and rid the territory of these no goods. A great story for western readers.
I enjoyed this book so much. It starts with a man looking for a wife for himself and his three children. The man and woman have exchanged letters to get to know each other. She agrees to come visit and meet. Sounds nice and cozy doesn't it? Well, all heck breaks loose and everyone is in danger. Exciting and hard to put down. I recommend this book highly.
Excellent read ...different but effective and realistic....sad to a point...not what you might expect. You get into the action along the way. A good description of life in the far west at this point in time of settling America. Real characters you want to overcome the tremendous odds of keeping home and family intact.
Walts clumsy careless and dumb method of dealing with Sam's kidnappers was disappointing. His unrealistic survival of two unattended wounds and need for Ellie and others continued rescues left one with a disappointed feeling about his manly capabilities. Continued hope, from beginning to end of this story, Walt would at some point become the western man immage ones expectations holds for western novels.
